Terms and Conditions

Please read the following terms and conditions carefully before choosing to hire  from The Runway Edit. When choosing to hire a garment, you are agreeing to follow these legally binding terms and conditions.

 

 

Pick Up Hires & Returns

​

Pick up hires can be collected the day prior to your event. The day following your event, the dress is to be returned in your allocated return time slot. A return time and the drop off address will be provided when booking.

 

 

Postal Hires & Returns

​

All hires are shipped via express post and include a return express post satchel. Returns are to be posted the day after your event. More details provided on booking.

Bookings

​

Bookings can be made by sending a direct message with your event date and the garment you would like to hire. Alternatively, bookings can be made in person on the day of your try on appointment.

 

Bookings are not secured until full payment has been made.

 

A copy of your driver’s license or other valid form of identification is required to secure your booking. This is held securely for the duration of your hire period, then destroyed once your hire is returned in satisfactory condition.

 

A bond of $50 for items under $500 RRP and $100+ for items over $500 RRP is required at the time of booking. This will be returned within 24 hours of the garment return, provided it is in original condition.

Payment

​

Full payment is required at the time of booking. Your hire fee includes professional cleaning. Payment options include bank transfer, PayPal or cash payment (if booked at a try on appointment). Payment details will be provided at the time of booking.

Hire Period

 

The standard hire period is four days. This allows time for you to receive your garment prior to the event and then organise the return afterwards. If an extended hire period is required, this can be arranged for additional fees prior to your hire.

Try on Appointments

 

Try on appointments are highly recommended prior to hiring a garment to avoid sizing issues.

 

All try on appointments require a booking and cost $10. Appointments last for 30 minutes and provide you exclusive access to try on any of the Runway Edit garments available on the day. Please arrive on time for your appointment, extensions beyond your scheduled time cannot be offered.

 

If you book a hire within 24 hours of your appointment, your try on fee will be deducted from the hire cost.

 

Please note, some garments may be hired out at the time of your appointment. If there is a specific item you would like to try on, please advise when booking so that a time can be arranged when it is available. You can bring up to 2 other people with you to your try on appointment.

 

Garments are checked over prior to, and after all try on appointments. It is expected that you will try on all garments with care and respect for the delicate fabrics. Any damages incurred during the try on process will result in a fee for the cost of repairs or cleaning to be paid by you.

 

Please note, booking a try on appointment does not guarantee the garment will be available for your event date. It is recommended you use the full 30 minutes and try on a number of ite to give yourself options.

 

To reschedule your appointment, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice, so that a new booking can be accommodated.

No shows to try on appointments and cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice will forfeit the $10 fee paid.

Postal try-ons are not available, as this restricts the availability of hires for customers.

Cancellations

 

Cancellations more than 14 days in advance of the hire date are entitled to receive a full refund of the hire cost, with no cancellation fee.

 

Cancellations less than 14 days but more than 7 days of the hire date are non-refundable and will be issued a store credit valid for 6 months.

 

Cancellations less than 7 days but more than 72 hours of the hire date are non- refundable and will be issued a store credit at 50% of the hire fee.

 

Cancellations within less than 72 hours of the hire date are strictly non-refundable and not eligible for store credit, as the garment is unlikely to be hired due to the short notice of cancellation.

Sizing Issues/Faulty Garments

 

Try on appointments are recommended prior to hiring a garment to avoid sizing issues.

 

If you cannot attend a try on appointment and your hire does not fit, it can be returned the same day unworn and exchanged for another garment of your choice (pending availability). Alternatively, you will be issued with a store credit that can be used within 6 months.

 

Exchanges or store credits will not be available after the day you received the item, under any circumstances. If the Runway Edit determines the garment has been worn rather than tried on, the hire cost will be retained and no store credit will be issued.

 

If any faults/issues are discovered upon receiving your hire garment, please advise The Runway Edit the same day the item is received so that this can be rectified with and exchange or refund.

Garment Care

 

Please treat your garment with care during the hire period. Refrain from applying fake tan in the 24 hours prior to wearing the garment, as this may result in discolouration of the fabric and incur additional cleaning costs.

 

No alterations are to be made to the garment without prior consent from The Runway Edit. Any damage resulting from unauthorised alterations will incur additional costs to be paid by you for repairing the garment.

 

Please be mindful of makeup, perfumes, grass stains, double sided tape residue, oils, body odours and strongly coloured food and drinks. These can result in excessive staining and/or odours that require specialist cleaning, and will incur additional fees to be paid by you upon return of the hire.

 

If the garment is found to be damaged beyond repair, The Runway edit may request you to pay the retail value of the garment, as it will no longer be rentable.

Cleaning

 

Professional cleaning is included in your hire fee and will be handled by The Runway Edit. In agreeing to the terms and conditions of hire, you agree not to clean or wash the garment yourself for any reason. This includes spot cleaning.

 

Incorrect attempts at cleaning may result in unexpected damage to the garment fabric, if this occurs, you will become financially liable for the cost of repair or replacement of the garment.

 

If the garment becomes wrinkled during transport after pickup or postage, you can use a steamer on low heat to de-crease the garment prior to wear.

Late Returns

 

If the hire garment is not returned by the agreed upon return date, you will incur a late fee of $25 for each day you retain the garment. If you still retain the garment 14 days after the return date, and no agreement has been reached between parties for return of the garment, it will be considered a non-return, and the full retail cost will become payable immediately for the hire garment.

 

If attempts to recover or obtain retail value of the garment following 20 days of non-return are unsuccessful, legal recovery actions will take place as this will be treated as theft of The Runway Edit’s intellectual property.

Damages

 

When hiring from The Runway Edit, please care for our items as you would garments from your own wardrobe.

 

At times accidental damage may be incurred when hiring a garment. If damage has occurred during your hire period, please advise The Runway Edit as soon as possible. This will provide an opportunity for us to work with you and potentially minimise further damage to the garment.

 

Do not attempt to clean or repair the garment without prior consent from The Runway Edit. Incorrect cleaning or repairs may result in further damage to the fabric and incur additional costs to you. This may include loss of bond, additional repair fees or full retail value to be paid if the garment is damaged beyond repair and no longer rentable. This will be decided at the discretion of The Runway Edit.
